After a decade working in progressive politics, I believe the biggest problem our society faces is that we have no idea the degree to which we are all ideologically captured, how controlled our opinions are, or how manipulated we are by powerful interests.
Talking to thousands of voters about their concerns, rather than just pushing the agenda of my organisation at the time, has allowed me to appreciate the good in the arguments of my political opponents. Being free of overt leadership roles has led my politics towards a more heterodox space, as some of the weak rhetorical points only reveal themselves when the rubber hits the road, as they say.
My articles here seek to address our collective ideological capture, identify propaganda, and de-gaslight my readers as we are all constantly prodded by tribal pressures, pushed into participating in a divisive culture war, when we should be banding together to take on unrepresentative elites.
I am here, on Substack (I know, there's beef), on your favourite podcast app and Youtube as Shameless Animals.
